What this site is
CarryOnAtlas answers one question fast: will your bag be allowed on the plane, and what will it cost if it isn’t? We publish carry-on, personal item and checked bag limits for the airlines US travelers fly most, side by side, in inches and centimeters, with a bag size checker that tests your own bag against all of them at once.
The CarryOnAtlas Editorial Team
Every page is researched, written and checked by the CarryOnAtlas Editorial Team. We read each airline’s own baggage page and the rules on tsa.gov, put the numbers into one format, double-check the centimeter conversions and date every check. We don’t accept payment from airlines or luggage brands to be included, and no commission changes the numbers we publish.
Found a limit or fee that has changed? Email hello@carryonatlas.com with the airline’s link and we will re-check it.
How we verify the numbers
- We start from the airline’s own baggage page, not from other travel sites. Each airline page links to the exact page we used.
- We record what the airline publishes, as it publishes it. If an airline gives only centimeters, we convert to inches and round to the nearest tenth. If it gives only a total (length + width + height), we say so.
- We stamp the date. Every airline page shows when we last checked it. Our current check was completed on November 7, 2026.
- Fees are the airline’s published standard fees for its main market. Elite status, co-branded credit cards, military orders and fare bundles can lower them; we note the common waivers.
Airlines change bag rules without much notice. Before an expensive trip, check the airline link on the page; if you spot something we have wrong, email hello@carryonatlas.com and we will re-check it.
TSA rules
Our TSA pages summarize the rules on tsa.gov, including its “What Can I Bring?” list. The final call is always the TSA officer’s at the checkpoint. Airlines and other countries’ security agencies can be stricter.
How we choose luggage
We have not lab-tested the bags we list, and we will not pretend to. We select well-known bags whose manufacturer-published outside dimensions (wheels and handles included) fit the limit the page is about, then show which airlines each bag fits using the same math as the checker. We do not publish star ratings or prices, because prices change daily on Amazon.
When you buy through a luggage link we may earn a commission from Amazon, at no extra cost to you. It never changes which airlines a bag fits. Read our full affiliate disclosure.
